Since some time the comments are duplicated.

Indeed, a comment of the blog is sent to facebook with the plugin, then the same comment is given on the blog because it is recovered via the facebook plugin.

It’s annoying to have to remove duplicates.
Could you check that ?

Thanks !

This very rare problem is most likely caused by another plugin or maybe your theme.
Try to disable other plugins to see if it solves the problem.

strange because I have not changed anything for a long time, neither the theme or plugins (just update)

Send me the debug info as explained in the last question of the FAQ, referencing this discussion and indicating which comments are duplicate and I will look into it. Also, let me know you did sent the debug info, since it doesn’t arrive always. The duplicate comment should be a very recent one, else it won’t be in the debug info.

It could be caused by a Facebook bug too.

Is your website a busy website?

I have the exact same problem since 2 days ago even if I never had it before and didn’t install any new extension or theme.

What’s hapenning ?

I investigated this problem and the most likely cause is duplicate comment ID’s from Facebook.
Since you hadn’t this problem before and didn’t install anything, this gets even more likely.

I have another problem next to this one.

Now when I post an article on my blog with a vimeo video link using the add to facebook plugin, the link on facebook does not contain the video. It’s just a basic link to the article.

Before the user could see directly from facebook the video

Why is that ?

Marcel

I can only guarantee that video works if you enter the correct, direct video URL in the field ‘video URL’ of the Add Link to Facebook meta box of the post editor.

Same problem here. Sending in the debug info.

Marcel

Thanks for the debug info, it revealed the problem.
I have made a workaround for a bug in Facebook.
Since this problem is difficult to reproduce for me, could you please test if the development version solves this problem? You need to wait at least 10 minutes and refresh the page with comments to check it, because of caching.

I personaltely don’t know how to try the debug version.

For the video, I put the correct link in the video url field, as I always did in the past.
It was working well untill few days ago, where it’s not working anymore (same moment than this new bug with the comments).

I guarantee that I put the correct video url in the video url field

@gbalme: please send me the debug info directly after you have added a link with a video

There are step by step instructions about how to install the debug version on the page referenced to above.

I don’t know why but I can’t send the debug information. I get an error message (in french). If I traduce it, it tells : “The sending of the debug informations failed”

24 April 2013 at 13:44 #6971

Marcel

That is most likely caused by an invalid e-mail setup on your hosting server.
Maybe your hosting provider can help with this.

There is not another way to send you the debug infos ?

24 April 2013 at 13:53 #6973

Marcel

What you can do is create a PDF with the debug info, zip it and send it using this contact form.

sent

Marcel

Unfortunately what I need to see isn’t completely visible: the debug info ‘last request’.

24 April 2013 at 15:06 #6978

gbalme

Can’t make everything visible in a PDF. I put this “last request” in a txt file, and send it to you again
